- 1994, University of Connecticut: climb for the guitar, join the band, and play one big show for the crowd.
- 1998, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Stamford CT: dodge rolling office chairs beneath the PWC tower.
- 1999, Sikorsky flight test: take the company car over a washed-out bridge until the engine gives out, then duck into the underground tunnel. Survive Y2K at midnight.
- 2000: get married at the church, doves and rice and all, and drive off in the JUST MARRIED car.
- 2001, Bridgewater Associates: cross the breakaway bridge, sit at the writing desk, and publish five books plus a technical edit, one manuscript at a time.
- 2019 to 2020: COVID-19 emerges; mask up, collect sanitizer, and dodge the germs as work goes remote overnight.
- 2024: grab the golden neural-net CPU, fight through the machines in the matrix rain, and contain an ungoverned AGI. The world blooms back, and the HIRE flag waits under a rainbow.
